I'm using forums software because it organizes things in a nice compact way. User registration is currently closed. Because I am a creator, I respect the work of other creatives. In my videos I use paid-for images from stock photo websites, meaning that I paid for the image license. I use audio from Soundcloud that is tagged as free to use with attribution, and I give that attribution as best as possible. Some sites like TikTok limit the text in the description, so the attribution has to be in a comment.
The Agents of DISRUPT novels are near-future science fiction stories with flying jetbikes, virtual reality and perilous games with young teams and crazed villains who get thrown together in thrilling adventures with a crafty AI, cool tech and lots of fun for the young adult in everyone!
If you enjoy stories with virtual worlds like Ready Player One (Ernest Cline) and Warcross (Marie Lu), then the Agents of DISRUPT novels are for you!
There are several novels planned, but don't wait for all of them before you start reading! It may be a while. All are set in the same story world and follow a similar framework. Each novel is a complete stand-alone story with its own set of main characters. Each story comes to a satisfying ending, and the main characters do not continue on into the next stories. There are some key secondary characters who do show up in all the stories, as well as some story world elements that are common to all of them.
When I set out to write these stories I had a goal to make them not-grimdark because I think there's too much of that in the world already. My stories contain many of the cyberpunk tropes but are not as pessimistic as that overall genre. I recently became aware of hopepunk, so I'm trying it on for size.
What is hopepunk? The term was originally coined by Alexandra Rowland in her Tumblr blog here: The opposite of grimdark is hopepunk. Pass it on. For a roundup, this is a good place to review: festiveninja - Hopepunk: Articles, Resources and Recordings
